A cyclist has suffered serious injuries following a crash on Somerset Avenue.
Police were called yesterday evening to an incident in Harefield, involving a vehicle and a cyclist on Somerset Avenue.
The cyclist – a man in his 50s – suffered serious injuries before being taken to hospital for medical treatment. His injuries are not thought to be life threatening, police said.
A spokesperson for Hampshire Police said: “We were called at 5.40pm on Wednesday, May 1 to a report of a road traffic collision involving a vehicle and a cyclist on Somerset Avenue.
“The cyclist, a man in his 50s, sustained serious injuries and was taken to hospital for treatment – his injuries are not thought to be life threatening or life changing at the current time.”
They added: “The road was closed while the incident was dealt with by emergency services, but is open again this morning.”
